Alison Aronson of Peaceable Yoga brings the benefits of hot yoga to her students. The hot room loosens the muscles, allowing for greater freedom of movement and stretching and resulting in greater flexibility. Whether it’s your first yoga class, coming back after a long time away, or after years of practicing – there’s something for everyone.
Alison previously worked as a middle school science teacher and had been a long-time runner. A running injury brought her to hot yoga, and she has been hooked ever since. After the birth of her twin daughters in 2002, she began to teach yoga classes as a way to find something meaningful outside of her family.
Combining the art of teaching with the movement and philosophy of yoga has been a dream come true. She and husband Adams’ most recent endeavor was to renovate their barn in South Salem, NY and open up her own yoga studio. Peaceable Yoga was born.
The remodeled barn on the property has a beautiful 500 square foot yoga room, which can comfortably fit 10 - 12 students. Custom made infra-red radiant heat ceiling panels heat the body in a far more gentle and therapeutic capacity vs. air blown heat.
We practice a unique blend of Bikram and Flow Yoga. Hot classes are heated at 95 – 98 degrees. Not so Hot Classes are heated at 87-89 degrees. Students can choose from 90, 75 and 60 minute classes. Wednesday night and Saturday morning classes are appropriate for newcomers and for students who like shorter and not as hot classes.
I look forward to sharing peace and love with you.
